The American Economic system

My ideal on the Amercan economic system.

Being a layman of life and the American experiment, I have a different prospective on how this great experiment we call America works.  First I’m not a professor or business owner.  I do have an Associates Degree and have lived now 42 years.  Like most Americans I have been laid off more times than I care to remember.  I’m married with to girls.  My wife and I work hard to pay the bills and take care of our girls needs.  I would say we are the finger tip middle class.  That means if we are still in the middle class it is only by the finger tips and the
grace of God.  We don’t take help from the government and we put our faith in the hands of God.

With that being said, I’m tired of the politicians pandering to voters.  I don’t care what party you belong to.  Stop the pandering and just tell the truth.  This time I would like to take a look at the economy.  Both parties right now talk about small business and how they have a plan to help them.  Let’s stop and think about what it means to help small business.  It is great that we take care of startup companies.  The problem with only helping small business is it takes out the fact that all business, big or small uses each other to make their products and companies grow. From the smallest steel manufacture and the local restaurant owner that feeds the shift workers at the assembly plant or to the top fortune 500 companies.  From the independent child care giver or the nursing home owner to the medical manufacture. Each of the companies in the country needs each other to make their company bigger and better.

We have to take care of all business in America.  When the government gets it into their minds to help or regulate one part of the economy they hurt other
parts of the economy and the people at large.  Just look at history, in the 70’s we observed what happen when the government in their great wisdom did the oil embargo.  It hurt the big business and killed the small business that supported the bigger companies and the people that worked in those companies.  Besides we got long lines at the pumps.  Through the years we have seen the textile, the steel industry, car and computer manufacturing move off shore and again the small business felt the repercussions of the recession.

So what can the government do to make sure the symbiosis of
the American Economy works together and grows for all who lives off its wealth.

First who lives off the wealth of the Economy?  All the people in America and around the world, from the person that starts the business, to the person that works in those companies or to the government that taxes our wealth and the other business that feed off that company’s success. It is the circle of economic life.

Second the government could let the free market system work.  They need to stop changing the rules and set them in stone. Drop the corporate tax rate just like all the tax rates in America.  Drop them all to no more than 10% of gross and take out all the loop holes.

Third let the people make the decision on what they want to buy and were they want to work.  The government needs to stop telling people if you buy this product we will give you a tax break.  The American people are smarter than the elites of this country believe we are.  We know what is best for us and what our
family needs.  When the American people have a chance to use their logic and common sense, we can govern ourselves with a 95% success rating.  It is the American people that move this country and not the government.

Fourth we need to stop and look at how we think about some of the jobs in this country.  All jobs are important and there is no jobs we won’t do.  We also have to look at how we educate people.  Not every American learns the same and college is not always the answer.  We need to look back in history for some other ways to teach.  One way is apprenticeships, start people off learning a job and if they don’t like it let them try other jobs till they find the one that they love. If they like the job they will move on and learn what makes that company work.  Sometimes just looking at someone’s education and not their understanding of the company is a way to lose the understanding of what made that company great.

The elites tell us all the time that it is to hard for common people to understand all the ins and outs of the economy.  It is not hard to understand.  If you have a product that cost 50 dollars to make, the company is adding the taxes that the government puts on the company for making that product.  A company can’t lose money like the government does.  The company can not just go out and print more money to cover the cost of doing business in America.   The company has to do two or three things to make it profitable to be in business.

First if the government raises taxes on any business big or small, that company has to look at raising the price of the product or cut out jobs or vendors to cover not raising the price.

Second the company can look at other places to make the product even if they don’t want to leave.

Third and this is where we are with all the taxes and regulations, the company can just close the door and layoff every person.

We as the people that live in this free market system need to learn that it is what made America great and it has helped more people than it has ever hurt.  We as a people need to come together and demand that our government stop taxing and regulating all of the companies out of America and start learning to live within it means.  Our government in America is not top down with a hard hand to the people.  It is the people of America that control the government.
