The American Tax and regulation system

There are a lot of waist in our governemnt and that should be cut before raising taxes.

As a layman that loves this country and has been paying taxes on what I have made since the 80’s and worked in many different jobs through my time as a tax payer.  I have a few ways to look at the taxes on The American people, families and companies.  I would like to look at this topic and come up with some ideals to fix the problem.

First let’s look at what taxes are and what taxes do.  Taxes are the way the American government makes money to fund itself.  The leaders that we elect into office come up with programs they believe will help the American people. After they pass a bill and it becomes the law of the land.  Then they ask us the American people to fund the program by higher taxes.  Taxes also come in many different names, Levies, tariffs, road, sales, property tax and a host of many different names.  All these taxes help fund the government’s programs. There are a few basic programs the government is to fund and we as the American people should be willing to pay for them.  The programs that we should fund are the programs that are for protection and the future of the American people. Some of the programs are the Military, Police, Fire and EMT, roads, public schools up to 12th grade and a few other programs. The rest should be put back into the hands of the free market systems.

Second regulations are used to get more money from the companies or sometimes hold back new ideals.  The biggest one I know of is the regulation on gas and some foods.  If the government wanted to cut the price at the pump all they would have to do is cut the 20 plus blends of gas and let the gas companies make only 4 or 6 different blends for the nation.  Then they can stop regulating the farmer and let them grow what they like.  The farmer knows how to run their farm in their state better then someone in DC. The farmer can also see what the nation needs before DC.  Just like taxes there are some regulations that need to be in place and the same ideal goes for regulations as taxes.  That it protects and maintains the future of the American people.

Right now we have people that think it would be the right thing to do, just raise the taxes and put more regulations on the rich and the companies.  These are people who are not thinking it through.  Let’s take a second to look at this statement.  You first have to understand that a company does not have any money to pay taxes till someone buys their product.  Second if we tax or regulate the rich and companies more, all they will do is the same thing we will do as regular people.  That is we will stop buying and hold on to our money.  Raising the taxes on any one or thing only hurts the people as a whole. What happens is the Companies will have to raise their prices to cover the taxes and or lay off more workers.  Something that this economy cannot handle right now or at any time in our history.   You have to ask yourself is this the way to go?  Seat down at your kitchen table and look at your bills and your family’s needs.  Can you afford higher prices at the stores, the pumps and in your check at work?  The raising of taxes will cause your pay check to shrink and the prices go up.

Let’s look at taxes and regulations as a Dam holding back the growth of the economic system.  The Dam holds back water to protect a town and use some of that water for drinking or power.  When the pressure is building up behind the Dam you open up the floodgates and let the water through and lower the pressure.  American needs to understand that taxes and regulations hold back companies and entrepreneurs from hiring and growing their companies.  With lower taxes and a freer people working in this country, the American economy can flow through any troubles.  Holding back people’s dreams and ideals with taxes and regulations only puts pressure on the economy and the American people.

The stock market has been up and down after the election and companies are cutting jobs still.  The free market is dying and with the death of the free market system the government jobs will also go away.  Without the private sector (the free market) there is no new money coming into the government so the money just goes into a circle and dies.   It’s like asking for $20 from your wife and a day later she asked you for $10 and then you ask her for $5 and after a few days if you have no other money coming in you are out of money. Without the private sector making jobs and creating new economic income the money slowly disappears and the nation goes bankrupt.  That is why Communist and Socialist government systems die. This is why the Chinese Communist government is a hybrid of two types of government, the only problem with the Chinese government, it is also dying.  We need to get back to the free market system and a smaller federal government.

One way to do this is to get to a fair and balance tax system.  I have in the past talked about a flat tax of 10% on gross.  It is simple the Federal government taxes everybody and business the same in America no more than 10%.  Cut out all the loop holes and then you also have to cut founding to programs that are not a necessity.  The difference between a necessity and a want is can you life without it.  You can’t life without food or cloths.  You can life without TV and movies.  So PBS, NPR and the National Endowment of the Arts should be put back into the hands of the private sector.  Then the government, federal and local should stop founding sports and let the fans control the outcome.  Let colleges fight on equal footing no more money from the federal government.  Let the free market and the free ideals of teaching rule the colleges.  Colleges get more and more government funds (that is your money) and the college’s tuition keeps going up.  You want to see prices drop get the government out of higher education and let the free market system work.

There are so many things that the federal and state governments can do before raising taxes.  We as the American people should fight to make them do everything they can to cut the waist.  When we don’t have enough money coming into our homes, what do we do?  We seat down at the kitchen table and go through the bills and see what can be cut and what we need to live on.  It is time the government does the same it is our money they are using and they are responsible to us the tax payers of the nation.  Let’s get back to a free market system and self reliance, we the people of this great nation make this country and the government.  The government comes from us the people, not the people from the government.
