Celebrate Festivus at The Boneyard in Mayfield Heights

If you are looking for the perfect way to kick off your weekend or just something to do tonight, why not take in a concert by Festivus, one of Greater Cleveland’s most popular party bands?

The Lake County-based rock band will be in the area tonight as they take to the stage at The Boneyard, 5900 Mayfield Road, in Mayfield Heights.

Festivus is a cover band made up of seven musicians: frontman Kelly Derek, who handles the vocals and plays the keyboards; Kellye Hawn, who adds a feminine touch to the band while also lending her vocals to the music as the female lead singer; Rick Koenig, who plays the guitar and sings; the brothers of Jim and Johnny Sustar, who play the bass and keyboards, respectively; percussionist Mike Malone; and drummer Rick Hervey.

When experiencing the band Festivus live in concert, the audience is promised a night made up of a wide variety of music. The band can handle 1980s disco and R&B, as well as other '80s favorites, and even the more recent music by today’s best artists. And with Festivus having both male and female vocalists handling the lead vocals, they are able to perform many songs that you may not hear from other cover bands in the Greater Cleveland area.

Many publications refer to Festivus as being the best party band in the city.
And “party” is right, as every Festivus concert is like being part of a mini Mardi Gras celebration … with beads and everything.

If you happened to be watching the television on the morning of Jan. 21, you may have seen Festivus appear on the Fox8 News in the Morning program on WJW. The band performed all morning as the show went into and came out of commercial breaks.
