Winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for fiction, The Goldfinch is author Donna Tart’s Dickensonian tale of the haunted odyssey of Theo Decker, who as a thirteen year old is one of the survivors of a tragic bombing. At the same time, this is a suspense thriller about the disappearance of Carel Fabritius’ painting, The Goldfinch. Tart’s epic novel traces Theo’s life in present-day America in a sweeping story of survival and self-invention.
