Congratulations Mayfield High Class of 2012

Pomp and Circumstance echos through the auditorium of the Palace Theatre for Mayfield grads.

The class motto – "The road to success is always under construction" – may have been based on life experience or what students learned at school. Either way, the class of 2012 was off to a great start.

The 112th annual commencement held smiles, hugs, laughter and a few tears of joy for grads, family and friends.

Superintendent Dr. Phillip Price remarked that the first time he met the graduating class 13 years ago, when they were just in kindergarten, they were not impressed with his duties – until they learned he was the one to call a snow day. On a more serious note he quoted an excerpt of a commencement address Winston Churchill had given: "Don't give up, don't give up, don't give up."
