Gates Mills Gala to Feature Unveiling of Ceramic Mural

Stop by this evening to see a yearlong project unveiled, and school goals achieved.

According to art teacher Heather Vokic, one of school's goals this year was to connect with the surrounding community. With the financial support of the Academic Boosters and the Gates Mills Elementary PTO, a yearlong project was created to connect students to the history and culture in the Gates Mills community.

An open house at 7 p.m. tonight will feature the unveiling of the ceramic tile mural, A River Runs Through It, which was a collaborative effort among all the students at Gates Mills Elementary and the ceramic artist in residence, George Woideck. The mural depicts several aspects of Gates Mills that are unique to this community.  Each class explored a theme depicted in the mural.
