Gates Mills Roundup: Old Mill Bridge Re-Opening Soon
Here is a roundup of news from Monday's Gates Mills Council meeting.
Council stamps budgets: Gates Mills put the finishing touches on its bill payment ordinance of $882, 573.24 and its estimated 2013 budget at a city council meeting on Monday. The budget was approved in January and had the final administrative action taken on it at the meeting.
The city’s financial statements through May has the city with a total current balance just above $5 million and about $130,000 above last year’s operating budget at the same time last year. The 1 percent uptick in wage increases account for some of the difference, councilman Will Barnes said.
“So far, so good as far as this year goes,” Barnes said.

Chagrin River Road resurfacing: Council adopted a resolution to consent to ODOT resurfacing Chagrin River Road from Old Mill Road to Rogers Road.
