Great Escape: 8th International Festival

Take a trip around the world at Lakeland Community College

Add some dimension to your workaday life with a quick trip around the world,
courtesy of the eighth International Festival at Lakeland Community College. It’s Saturday, April 30, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland.

Go alone, and lose yourself in the mariachi music of the Conjunto Riqueno Trio from Youngstown, or the Federal Rebels bluegrass band. Or inspire an entourage with Sheene King’s Afro-Cuban dance; the Csardas Dance Company’s Hungarian dances; freshman Ruzanna Tovmasyan singing and dancing to the music of her native Armenia; and the American Indian Education Dance Group.

Absolutely don’t forget to ruin your dinner with ethnic pastries and snacks from Italy, Greece, India and Slovenia. The package tour is a non-budget-busting $4 per adult, $2 for students and seniors (55 and over). No passport necessary.
