Everyone agrees that living in the past is a pretty bad idea, but a quick visit is harmless enough. And it can even be fun – big fun at the Big Fun Toy Store, 1814 Coventry Road, Cleveland Heights.
Start your visit by stuffing some Raisinettes or Cabbage Patch Sours into your mouth to achieve that sugar high you knew and loved, and then locate the toys you knew and loved. A Rainbow Brite doll? A GI Joe action figure? A Lite Bright? You’ll find them there, along with hundreds of other iconic toys. Maybe you’d like to take a Smurf home with you, or a stuffed Felix the Cat.
That would be fine, but pay the nice man before you do. His name is Steve Presser, and he opened the shop 20 years ago.

You’re welcome to visit between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. There’s a Big Fun on the west side, too, but your mommy doesn’t like you to drive that far.
