Great Escape: WCPN Open Air Around Noon Concerts
Grab lunch and head downtown for live music

Pack a lunch – something grown-up, a caprese salad with a crusty roll, perhaps. And steel yourself. On Thursday, July 28, you’re going downtown for Open Air, a live outdoor broadcast of WCPN-FM 90.3’s Around Noon show. Take some change for the parking meter. You’ll find Cleveland right where you left it.
Head for Star Plaza, at the intersection of East 14th Street and Euclid Avenue, and arrive around 11:30 a.m. to assure yourself a seat. Settle in for a lively show hosted by Dee Perry. Her guests will include Colin Dussault’s Acoustic Side Project – replete with three-part harmony – and performance poets Katie Daley and Mary Weems.
You are in for a big treat, and we’re not talking about that Caramel Frappuccino you’re snagging afterward at the nearby Starbucks.

Feel free to repeat the drill Aug. 11, when Perry hosts trumpeter Sean Jones with members of his Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, and Aug. 25, when Harvey Webster shows off some of his wild friends from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
