National Night Out Coming To Mayfield Heights

The event will return for the third straight year on Aug. 1.

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH — On Aug. 1, the Mayfield Heights Police Department will host the city's version of the Night Out, a national community-building campaign. The event is designed to promote police-community partnerships and camaraderie in neighborhoods.

Over the past two years, the Mayfield Heights Night Out has drawn 1,000 attendees. The National Night Out will be held in conjunction with departments across the nation.

The event will be held in the city's south park, on Marsol Road, near the pavilions and tennis courts. Attendees will enjoy live music, fireworks, police K-9 demonstrations, free hotdogs, face painting, balloon twister, touch-a-truck, inflatable slides, and more.

The Chardon Polka Band will play between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. A full schedule of events for the evening is available online.

Many of the police department's employees will be in attendance and will be available for discussion or friendly mingling.
