To support the fight against diabetes, more than 50 students from the Nexus Academy of Cleveland recently organized their own “Walk to Cure Diabetes.” On May 22nd the students walked nearly 3.5 miles from the blended online/on-site high school on Superior Avenue to Public Square and back to raise money and awareness in the search of a cure for the disease.
In January the students lost their math teacher, Rebecca Corbin, from complications with diabetes. Nexus Academy Physical Fitness trainer, Susan Cashdollar saw this as an opportunity to educate the student body on the toll living with Diabetes takes on the body.
