Police Blotter: Battle for Parking Spot Turns Into Assault

A man was cited for assault after driving his car into an elderly woman’s car in the parking lot the morning of Aug. 3. The two had a dispute over a parking spot at the store. The woman was driving a 2002 Toyota, and the man drove a 2005 Chrysler Sebring. The elderly woman had a heart condition and was transported to .

Bad accident: A woman’s Ford was hit in a two-car accident with a 1999 Oldsmobile in front of the afternoon of Aug. 2. The Oldsmobile pulled into the Walmart lot, and it was discovered that the driver was driving under suspension. The Ford was towed and both people involved in the accident were transported to Hillcrest Hospital.

Egg vandalism: A Windsor Dr. resident said its house was egged the morning of Aug. 2. The resident said this was a continuing problem and requested special attention be paid to the area, especially during the evening.

DUI: A man was arrested for a DUI at the intersection of Marshfield Rd. and Gates Mills Blvd. the afternoon of Aug. 2. The driver of the 2006 Pontiac was sent to Hillcrest Hospital.

Tires slashed: A employee said the company’s vans had their tires slashed while parked in the back of the building the morning of Aug. 3.

Parking negligence: A Roselawn Rd. resident was cited for continuing to park his 1999 Subaru on the front lawn of a home on the street the morning of Aug. 3. The caller said it was a continuous problem and this person had been warned in the past.

Robbery: A woman said she was robbed and assaulted while leaving a party at the night of Aug. 4.

Theft: An Eastwood Ave. resident said a backpack blower was taken from their shed the morning of Aug. 5

Shoplifting foiled: Walmart security busted two juveniles for shoplifting the afternoon of Aug. 4.
