Police Blotter: Burglary Reported on Belrose

A Belrose Road resident reported at 5:44 p.m. March 16 that his house was broken into and a laptop computer, two desktop computers, a big -screen TV and a Blu-Ray player were all missing. Police said the house was entered through a window.

A caller reported being rear-ended at 8:01 a.m. March 14 on Mayfield Road. She said her car didn't have any damage and the other car had minor damage to its grill. The other driver also called and advised that the accident occurred in front of a school. Police said the incident was in Gates Mills and told the caller to file a report there.

A Commonwealth Avenue parent noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from a son's room at 6:26 p.m. March 14. The boy was issued a citation and date in juvenile court.

A Golden Gate Boulevard woman said at 6:40 p.m. March 14 that she had her father's car and a man took it without permission while she was sleeping. She said it was then involved in an accident and towed.

Four suspects in an older white Honda were looking into cars at 11:32 p.m. March 14 on SOM Center Road. One of the suspects had a warrant from Richmond Heights and he was taken to Wilson Mills and Bishop roads for a prisoner exchange.

A fight was reported at 2:38 a.m. March 15 on Marsol Road. Police went to the scene and seven suspects ran up a stairwell. Two girls were arrested.

A Fruitland Avenue woman reported at 2:02 a.m. March 16 that her ex-boyfriend was trashing her house.

Solicitors were trying to get signatures and donations opposing Senate Bill 5 at 6:26 p.m. March 16 on Commonwealth Avenue. They were told they cannot ask for money, but can seek signatures.

A car jumped the curb and hit a bank building at 12:15 p.m. March 17 on Mayfield Road. There was no damage to the building and the car was towed.

A caller said kids were playing in the street at 4:47 p.m. March 18 on Elmwood Road and refused to move for cars. Police said parents were watching the children and they were told not to get in the way of cars.

A Marsol Road man called at 2:38 p.m. March 19 and requested special attention to his residence. He was with an ex-girlfriend while on vacation and came back early after they had an altercation, while she stayed. He was concerned she might try to continue the argument when she returned.

A Mayfield Road jewelry store called at 4:47 p.m. March 19 after paying $800 for a gold chain that turned out to be fake. Police said it was a civil matter.

Employees caught a woman shoplifting at 12:56 p.m. March 20 at a Mayfield Road drug store. The merchandise was recovered and the woman was told not to return.
