Police Blotter: Elder Driver Involved in Two-Car Accident

Two vehicles were involved in an accident at the intersection of Mayfield Rd. and Chagrin River Rd. in the early afternoon of Aug. 10. Police said no one was injured in the crash. One of the drivers, a 76-year-old man from Chardon, was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.

Poor fence: A Pickerington man, 21, was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control of his vehicle in a single-car accident on Brigham Rd. the morning of Aug. 9. Police received a 911 call and found that the driver had traveled off the roadway and struck a fence. No one was injured in the crash.

Spat: Police had to separate a man and woman causing a disturbance in the early morning of Aug. 11 at a Riverview Rd. residence. Officers spoke with them and the girlfriend subsequently left the residence.

False alarm: A resident of West Hill Dr. reported a suspicious vehicle parked on the roadway near his driveway the evening of Aug. 7. Officers identified the driver of the vehicle as a worker who subsequently conducted his business and departed the area.
