Police Blotter: Erratic Driver Had Hit a Deer

An officer stopped a man for driving erratically at 1:21 a.m. on Interstate 271 southbound at Wilson Mills Road. The man was shaken up because he had just hit a deer north of Highland Road. Police moved the carcass to the side of the road and notified the Ohio Department of Transportation.

A Lynden Drive resident complained on May 18 that mail was not delivered the previous day because construction trucks were parked in the street blocking mailboxes.

Two women were picking through trash at a vacant home at 6:20 p.m. May 18 on Bishop Road.

A Radford Drive woman returned home at 1:33 p.m. May 18 to find her house on fire and said she saw smoke through the house. The woman called back and said she left her oven on. The stove fire was extinguished and the house was ventilated.

A group of men in a silver car were driving up and down Tourelle Drive at 1:29 a.m. May 18 and screaming obscenities. A resident told police that the men followed her home from Beta Drive and they started yelling at her as she walked to her house.

A Gloucester Drive man was called on May 16 by a roofing solicitor who wondered if anyone would be around the next morning for an estimate because of hail damage in the area. The man said no one would be home and then thought that might had been a mistake. He also said he was on the no call list.

A Lynden Drive resident came to the police station at 9:24 p.m. May 15 and wanted help with animals living under his deck. He showed a picture of six foxes under and sitting on the deck.

A Blakley Drive resident called at 6:13 p.m. because a solicitor refused to give a donation back. Police said the money was returned to the resident.

A fight was reported at 9:50 p.m. May 13 at a golf course. Two men were fighting and both had white shirts with blood on them. Police went to the scene, but were unable to find the combatants.

A Longspur Road resident called at 10:24 p.m. May 13 about a roving group of kids running in his yard. Police caught up with the group on Medway.

A woman told police that a possible drunken driver was in a white minivan at 10:12 p.m. May 11 in the southbound express lanes of Interstate 271. She said the van was all over the road at speeds of only 45 mph. The van got off the highway at Mayfield Road and the driver pulled over at a gas station. He came out with beer and headed westbound on Mayfield in Mayfield Heights.
