Police Blotter: Man Exposes Himself

A man exposed himself to a woman in the parking lot while he was asking her for directions to the evening of Aug. 10. The man was parked next to her, and she had gotten out of her car to give him directions. As she was writing them down, she noticed he was exposed. Police went looking for him at Walmart and discovered he had done the same there while asking for directions to and the . About a half-hour later, another report was made of a man in a blue-striped shirt exposing himself in the parking lot. Police checked Eastgate and the surrounding area but were unable to locate him.

Equipment theft: A Commonwealth Rd. resident reported having a gray Echo leaf blower and an orange Echo leaf blower stolen from his garage the afternoon of Aug. 9. He thought he saw a man and woman loading up a gold Chevy four-door down the street from him, but they weren’t located.

Confrontation: A Marsol Rd. resident said her 12-year-old son pulled a knife on her the afternoon of Aug.9. She said it was only a verbal argument and didn’t request any further action be taken.

Son takes money and runs: A resident gave her son a debit card to pay for car repairs, but he didn’t return the afternoon of Aug. 9. Her son said the car part would cost $45, and he would be back by 5 p.m. that day. But he turned off his cell, and she discovered that $100 had been charged to the card.

Heroin OD: A caller reported that 26-year-old woman had overdosed on heroin at Wynwood Apartments the evening of Aug. 9. CPR was used and the woman was sent to .

Attempted armed robbery: A man attempted armed robbery at the morning of Aug. 10 but was unable to take anything. Wearing a cream colored-shirt and carrying a black gun, he left the facility using an emergency door.

Man arrested: A man in his 50’s was accused of stealing a can of beer from the the morning of Aug. 10 and left on foot westbound down Mayfield Rd. He was later found lying face down on the sidewalk in front of Gaetano’s Restaurant passed out. He was taken into custody.

Bicycle rider struck by car: A 26-year-old woman was riding on her bicycle on SOM Center Rd. and was struck by a car the morning of Aug. 10. She suffered a laceration on her leg and was sent to Hillcrest Hospital.

Juvenile thefts: Two 17-year-old girls were busted for shoplifting at Walmart the evening of Aug. 10. No report was filed, but they were told not to return.

Three DUIs: A man was slumped over his wheel at Penn Station and cited for a DUI the evening of Aug. 10. Another driver was cited for a DUI on I-271 going southbound in the early morning of Aug. 12. A few hours later, a woman was halted on Mayfield Rd. and charged with a DUI.

Batmobile goes batty: During the Mayfield Heights Community Unity Days Parade, the “Batmobile” broke down at the end of the parade route and had to be pushed into the Danny Vegh parking lot on Aug. 12. No word on whether the Joker or the Penguin tinkered with the Batmobile.
