Police Blotter: Man Picks Up Wife After Dangerous Drive

Hunting Valley police got a call that a woman in a brown Subaru was driving erratically, and they thought she might be intoxicated on SOM Center Rd. the evening of July 9. The HVPD reported the vehicle was on SOM northbound near . The vehicle eventually turned onto Mayfield Rd. and into the and movie theater parking lot, bouncing off a curb and running a stop sign. Mayfield police followed the vehicle on Mayfield Rd. which stopped in front of . Dispatch contacted the woman’s husband, and he picked up his wife who had a medical condition. The husband arrived and took care of his wife.

Furniture break in: An employee arrived at on Mayfield Rd. on the morning of July 9 and noticed someone had broken out the back window and attempted to get into the store. The employee believes they didn’t get into the store, but found that the security wires had been cut.

Family feud: The stepfather of a 16-year-old boy said his son got out of control and broke things in his Genesse Ave. home the afternoon of July 9. The boy’s natural father was contacted in Canton and agreed to pick the boy up.

Man arrested for assault: A Mayfield Heights man was arrested at his place of business at First Merit Bank in Beachwood the morning of July 11 after a woman reported him for physical assault the evening of July 6. The woman altered police he would be returning from vacation and might be at work. Beachwood police made the arrest.

Pole in the way: A Silver VW Beetle was driven into a light pole and attempted to get away on Woodhurst Ave. the evening of July 9. A man was taken into custody and transported to Hillcrest Hospital to have his blood drawn. The man was then taken to the police station and continued to refuse to have his blood drawn.

Friend assaults friend: A Marsol Rd. woman said her girlfriend assaulted her, leaving her with a cut on her head. The woman was wearing shorts and a white shirt and left the scene in a silver Ford Fiesta. Police caught up with the woman in the area of Sunningdale and Chelmsford Roads and was taken into custody.

iPhone stolen: A guard at the said he was jumped by a man who took his iPhone the evening of July 10. The man’s father spoke to a policeman who reported the incident. The man didn’t call police at the time of the incident and went straight home. Police checked but couldn’t locate the man.
