Police Blotter: Man Touches Woman At Bus Stop

A man placed his hands on a woman while the two were waiting at a bus stop near on the evening of Aug. 8. A man wearing dirty clothes who was approximately 45 years-old struck up a conversation with her and asked if she was happy. He said he hated his life.

The woman had a tattoo on her leg, and the man grabbed her there. She said he tried to reach for her chest, but she moved out of the way. The woman ran back to her place of employment at .

The man momentarily stayed at the bus stop. Police spoke to her and she said she was afraid of the man. But she was satisfied when he left on the bus and was no longer in the area heading back towards Cleveland.

Peeping at women: A man had been suspiciously staring into the windows at and looking at the women in the store the evening of Aug. 6. Several women in the store complained about him. The man became belligerent and swore when he was approached by a security guard. The man was sent to for a psychiatric evaluation.

Fire: A fire burned at a Temple Ave. residence on the morning of Aug. 6. A Longwood Dr. resident reported that smoke had been coming out of the windows. A 911 call was made, and police confirmed the fire’s existence at the rear of the home. The animal warden was contacted for a possible pet inside the residence. Radnor Rd. and Wellington Rd. were both blocked off.

Bad checks: A woman attempted to pass off bad checks for two consecutive days at beginning on Aug. 5. Police hadn’t been unable to catch up to her at the time of the bank’s reporting of the fraudulent transactions on Aug. 6.

Stolen card: A Teal Trace resident said someone had been using their stolen credit card the afternoon of Aug. 6. A new charge had popped onto the account at .

Money missing: A resident said money was missing from her elderly friend’s purse the morning of Aug. 7. She said five $20 bills were taken from her apartment.

Hit and run: A Highland Heights resident had her beige Hyundai hit in the parking lot of the evening of Aug. 6. She checked with Giant Eagle management and said the store had the incident on surveillance footage but wouldn’t release it without a police report.
