Police Blotter: Solicitor Not Amusing

Information supplied by the Highland Heights Police Department

A Maypine Farm Blvd. resident said a man came to her door and handed her a tri-fold pamphlet the afternoon of Aug. 13. He told her a joke she did not appreciate and told him she was not interested in what he was selling. Police later found him at the Aberdeen Blvd. and Miner Rd. intersection. He was told to get a permit and leave the area. The resident was updated on the situation.

Spat: A man and woman caused a disturbance in front of just after midnight on Aug. 11. Police helped settle the situation. The woman agreed to eventually get personal items from the man’s house in Gates Mills.

Playground intrusion: A man parked a car across from a resident’s home on Millridge Rd. She said the man walked towards ’s playground in the early morning of Aug. 11. She was previously told to call police if she saw anyone walking into the playground at night. Officers found both the man and car at the playground. He was told to leave and cooperated.

Eggs on house: A resident on Tourelle Dr. said her household had eggs thrown at it during the early morning of Aug. 14.

Fireworks: A Highland Rd. resident complained that neighbors were setting off fireworks. An officer spoke with the home owner who said her 13-year-old son had been firing them. The officer said the mother turned over the remaining fireworks.

Keep an eye on your pet: A caller got into an argument with a man who was walking his dog that defecated on his Gloucester Dr. lawn the evening of Aug. 14. Both men were advised to curb their actions.
