Special Piano Concert To Be Held At Gilmour Academy

MAYFIELD-HILLCREST, OH - From Gilmour Academy: On Tuesday, November 14 Gilmour will host a special piano duet concert featuring Pierre and Sophié van de Westhuizen, “The Westhuizen Duo,” at its Lower School located at 35001 Cedar Road in Gates Mills. The pair will play a combined duet (one piano) and duo (two pianos) program called “Our Favorite Things: A Beautiful and Joyful Collection of Works for Piano Duet.” The concert will be performed on two of Gilmour’s brand new Steinway & Sons grand pianos and will include Gabriel Fauré’s “Dolly Suite,” Bach’s “Concerto in D Minor” and “Shostakovich Concertino,” among others.

These beautiful pianos have been donated and this concert has been graciously underwritten, by Matthew P. Figgie ’84, Figgie Capital and The Figgie Foundation.
