Steve Stephens Not Spotted In Mayfield Heights: Police
Rumors have been circulating in Mayfield that the "Facebook Killer" was seen in the city. Police say those rumors are not based in fact.

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH - The Mayfield Heights Police Department took to social media to disprove several rumors circulating about sightings of Steve Stephens, the suspect in the Cleveland Facebook Killing. The department said it received several reports of males matching Stephens' description, but none were actually the suspect.
"Yesterday someone called the police department and reported that a male matching Stephens’ description was seen retrieving a gun from a vehicle in a shopping plaza and then entering a store," the department said on Facebook. "Officers responded and later learned that a male had just been retrieving his cell phone from his car."
There had also been rumors that Stephens worked, lived in, got his hair cut in, and shopped in Mayfield Heights. None of the rumors have proven to be factual, the department says.
