Young Girl Hit By Car In Mayfield Heights
The police department said the girl was riding her bicycle when she was struck by a passing car.

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH — On Monday afternoon, a young girl was hit by a car while riding her bicycle across Lander Road. The girl was seriously injured, but is in stable condition, police said on Facebook. Lander Road was closed for part of Monday afternoon.
The public information officer for the Mayfield Heights Police Department did not immediately return a request for more information from Patch. The girl's age is currently unknown, as is the status of the driver.
On Facebook, the department said the accident took place on Lander near Maplewood Drive. The department urged everyone to be more careful on the roads.

" With summer here, it’s important to talk to your children about traffic safety and potential dangers. No parent wants to receive a phone call that their child has been injured," the department said on Facebook. "For motorists, please keep an eye out for our kids and slow down."
