Fall Ridge Fest set for Saturday (vintonjacksoncourier.com) — Residents can head just outside McArthur this Saturday, Oct. 3, for the free Fall Ridge Fest at Feather Ridge Cabin & Camp from 4–7 p.m., with live music running until 10. Expect food trucks, craft vendors, activities, and camping options at the women- and veteran-owned campground in Zaleski State Forest, with reservations available by phone.
   

2. McArthur Fire Department reminds Vinton County of fall burn ban (sciotovalleyguardian.com) — McArthur's fire department is reminding Vinton County residents that Ohio's fall open-burning ban runs daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 1 through Nov. 30. The rules, aimed at preventing wildfires during dry, breezy weather, restrict burning yard waste in unincorporated areas and warn of possible citations, while urging anyone with legal fires outside restricted hours to monitor and fully extinguish them.
   

3. 'Because we love Vinton County': The flooding aftermath and response in photos (athensmessenger.com) — In McArthur, many downtown routines have resumed, but nearby neighborhoods still show heavy flood damage, from debris-filled streams to closed buildings. Residents at Xena Place Apartments and Renovate Life Church of God are cleaning up and rebuilding, even as the church continues operating its food pantry to support Vinton County families after the state-declared emergency.
   

4. Tuesday's sports recap: Eastern downs Wahama volleyball (wvnews.com) — Local volleyball fans saw River Valley fall in a tight five-set match to Vinton County in McArthur during Tri-Valley Conference play. The broader roundup also covers Eastern, Meigs, and several West Virginia teams, with details on scores and upcoming match times for those following regional high school sports.
