1. Bay to Brooklyn memorial bike ride passes through Medina (medina-gazette.com) — A cross-country 9/11 memorial bike ride stopped in Medina this week, with riders escorted by the Medina Fire Department through Public Square to the city's 9/11 memorial. Mostly retired firefighters, the cyclists stayed overnight at Fire Station No. 1, received meals from local businesses, and met Mayor Jim Shields before continuing toward New York City.
   

2. News roundup for Sept. 3 (medina-gazette.com) — Downtown Medina will host the fifth annual Chocolate Walk on Oct. 24, sending ticket holders around Public Square to collect treats from local businesses. Another outing leaves from Medina's Buehler's River Styx for a cultural bus trip, while Rumpke reminds area residents which items belong in their recycling bins and where to safely take batteries.
   

3. Medina County libraries offer free replacement cards in September (yourohionews.com) — Medina County District Library is waiving fees for replacement cards all September, making it easier for Medina residents to replace lost or damaged cards and restart borrowing. With multiple card types, fine-free borrowing, and online account tools, the system also offers voter registration help and election information at all locations and through its website.
   

4. Brunswick Library program for grandparents raising grandchildren (cleveland.com) — Grandparents and relatives in Medina County raising children are invited to a free "Parenting Again" support event at Brunswick Library on Sept. 17 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Hosted by the Early Childhood Resource Center, the program offers guidance on caregiving, child development, and local resources, with encouraged online registration but no requirement to sign up in advance.
   

5. Girls tennis roundup: Highland remains perfect in Suburban League National Conference (medina-gazette.com) — Highland's girls tennis team stayed unbeaten in Suburban League National play with a dominant sweep of North Royalton, led by a flawless performance from first singles standout Lily Hantz. In other league action, Medina's girls were swept 5-0 by Hudson, with the Bees' closest contest coming at second doubles in straight sets.
