• Update on wrong-way crash on Route 2 that killed Mentor man and injured Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper (news5cleveland.com) — A Mentor resident was killed when his car, traveling the wrong way on Route 2 near Painesville Township, struck an Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser head-on. Troopers say the officer, who suffered serious injuries but is recovering, may have prevented an even larger tragedy by encountering the wrong-way driver when he did. Investigators are still awaiting the medical examiner's report to clarify remaining questions.
