Newly acquired Deron Williams had a chance to be the hero in his first game as a Cavalier but missed an open three-pointer from the corner with about five seconds to play as the Boston Celtics outlast the Cavs 103-99 Wednesday night.
The Celtics' win overshadowed the seventh triple-double of the season for Lebron James, who finished with 28 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Kyrie Irving added 28 points, while Derrick Williams-playing on his second 10-day contract -provided the energy for the Cavaliers early on, scoring 10 points in the first half. Tristan Thompson finished with nine points and 13 rebounds. In his Cavs debut, Deron Williams played 24 minutes and scored four points and two assists.
Isaiah Thomas lead all scores with 31 points, while Al Horford finished one point shy of a triple-double with a final line of nine points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

The game marked the third meeting this season between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference, and the first win by the Celtics. The Cavaliers' lead over Boston for the #1 seed now stands at three games.
