Feels like opening night on Broadway

Although I am not an actor in a Broadway play preparing myself for opening night at Forsaken Haunted House feels like I am.

In just over one week I will take the "stage" for the dress rehearsal night at Forsaken Haunted House in Mentor.  I will be transformed into Susan Fields resident of Quiet Springs and crazy secretary for the Mayor, Donald Wheaton. The anticipation of dress rehearsal night is killing me. Will I remember my lines? Will I scare anyone? Will I get the actor of the night award? Dress rehearsal night will be filled with last minute costume fittings and make up. Although my dressing room is not private nor does it have my name on the door the loft feels like it belongs to me and me alone. After signing in with Diana I will be quickly ushered to see Cindy in costuming to receive my 1950's costume. No time to be modest put it on and get moving to make up. As I wait for one of our many talented make up artists headed by the great "Killer Katie" I will have time to run my scene through my head. When it is my turn for make up I will be aged and weathered. Once I'm done in make up I head to the town square to wait among other crazies and zombies. We all will check out the cool prosthetics and make up tricks that the artists use. Last call for the bathroom before we are placed in our scenes. Also last minute checks for water bottles and throat lozenges.  For many of us this will be our first time in the scene. As I approach the mayors office I will feel butterflies in my stomach. Many more questions run through my mind. Did "Gadget" remember to install my peep hole? Does the actor before me remember the cue so I know people are coming? ect....  I have a few minutes to familiarize myself with the scene before it is lights out. This is it this is my big night! Break a leg! Diana, Katie or Gadget announce lights out. I will join my fellow haunt actors in a giant roar....it echos and vibrates throughout the building. We are Forsaken!
