For the Boys

Create a bow tie from an old dress shirt.

Don't you just love little boys in bow ties? How about big boys? Or girls? My kids will cringe, but I used to love wearing ties in my younger days. So anyone can be dapper in a bow tie.

There are a number of free patterns on the internet that show you how to make simple bow ties. But I wanted to make a genuine - tie it up - bow tie. I found two patterns and morphed them to create a bow tie with an adjustable neckstrap. You can read about it here.

The key to this bow tie is that I used a man's shirt for the fabric! The shirt had a big rip in the arm. I usually repair them for my husband, but felt that the fabric was too cute to pass up.
