Since I love to create, I love to give handmade gifts. I always have a feeling of guilt, however, if I don't make every gift for every person on my list. In recent years I have decided to carefully select just a few items to make for a few people on my list. There is no method to my selections - it is completely based on my whims of what I feel like creating at the moment.
If you would like to explore some of the gifts my daughter and I have made in the past, head on over to my blog.
This past weekend I helped my oldest daughter create the first gift of the season. OK, she is not crafty - I made it for her while she watched. But this is a super easy and super quick craft.

You start with some old metal guitar strings. We have a collection of them! Why do we have old guitar strings laying around? When you have musicians in the house you tend to collect a lot of things.
I took two strings, one thick and one thin, and twisted them together. I formed them into a double loop that would be big enough to fit over my daughter's hand. Next, I trimmed the ends of the wires. I then took some green wire (found at craft stores) and wrapped until the guitar strings were secured. I tucked the edge of the green wire under the wraps to prevent the wire from poking out.

I hope my daughter's musician friend likes it!
