The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased 1.2% to 5.2% for the month of June 2021. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 9.9%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 1.3% as well to 5.7% for the month of June; one year ago, it was 10.7%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor’s 5.2% unemployment rate is the lowest and Lakewood and Kettering tied with the second lowest rate at 5.6%. Cuyahoga Falls is third with 6.0%, followed by Columbus at fourth with 6.3%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 26,300.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 1.3% to 6.3% for the month of June 2021.
