The Erie Yacht Club, where Erin Gaydos Carlisle died Monday, held a vigil in her memory early Wednesday evening.

The vigil was open to the public and more than 300 people attended. Carlisle's family members, who live in Mentor, carried a flowered wreath to the yacht club's flagpole. The flag was at half-mast as two bagpipers played Amazing Grace, according to the story in the Erie Times-News.

Those who could not attend the vigil can see video of it on YourErie.com.

Ryan Carlisle, Aaron Hertel and Mike Brown work together at Hertel & Brown Physical and Aquatic Therapy in Erie, according to the company's website. Jamison Hertel is Aaron's 2-year-old son.

Palkovic works at the yacht club, according to the Erie-Time News.

Erin Carlisle worked as a physical therapist at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, working with patients who have traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. She met Ryan Carlisle as a freshman at Gannon University in 2004. They lived in the same residence hall – she on the fourth floor, he on the first.

Investigators think the boat exploded and allowed fuel vapors to enter the engine compartment instead of blowing them out.

Erin Carlisle died immediately when the boat exploded, authorities said. She was only 25 years old.

Carlisle's funeral mass will be noon Monday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, in Concord Township. Her visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at  in Mentor.

She will be interred Tuesday in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Erie, PA, the city in which she and Ryan Carlisle lived.

The Gaydos family has said that donations in Erin's memory can be made to the Gannon University Occupational Therapy Scholarship Fund, 109 University Square, Erie, PA 16541.
