The day will include carnival games, craft tent, face painting, corn hole, food venders, community vendors selling crafts and other home items, pumpkin patch and corn stalks for purchase, carriage rides, and music from Spirit Media (WELW) and the Folley Field Dedication.

Field Dedication Ceremony will be held at 1:00pm. 45 years ago parents and local advocates lobbied the state and federal governments to obtain funding for services for individuals with disabilities. This October we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the 169 board laws. These laws provided a mechanism for funding and services for individuals with disabilities in Lake County such as recreation and Special Olympics.  Mary Ellen Folley was the first superintendant of the Lake County 169 Board now known as Lake County Board of DD/Deepwood. We are dedicating the softball fields used by the Special Olympics Softball teams to Mary Ellen Foley. Mary Ellen’s daughter Ellen Folley-Kessler ( Lake Metro-Parks) will speak as we dedicate the field in her mother’s honor.
