Great Escape: 'Once on This Island'

Before the tragic earthquake in Japan, there was the disaster in Haiti.

Hundreds of thousands of people died after 7.0 earthquake struck Jan. 24, 2010, not far from the impoverished country's capital, Port-au-Prince.

The earthquake devastated what was already the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, leaving millions homeless.

is raising money for the ongoing relief efforts in Haiti with its spring musical, Once on This Island.

The show, which is about Haiti, will have six performances this and next weekend at Lake Catholic. Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees will begin at 3 p.m.

Tickets cost $10 for an adult, $8 for a senior and $5 for a student. A portion of the proceeds go to Haiti relief.
