Homes Savings and Loan Files to Foreclose on Great Lakes Plaza

The Youngstown-based bank has filed for foreclosure and injunctive relief against the shopping plaza, its owners and tenants

Home Savings and Loan has filed a series of civil suits asking for foreclosure and injunctive relief againstΒ Great Lakes Plaza Ltd., Richard Osborne Sr. and several other defendants.

According to the suits, which were filed Wednesday in Lake County Court of Common Pleas, the defendants failed to pay a loan and three subsequent notes.

The Youngstown-based bank claims to be owed $10.5 million.

Additionally, the bank said Great Lakes Plaza Ltd. and Osborne threatened the plaza's tenants with eviction if they paid their rent directly to Home Savings and Loan as had been previously agreed.

The lawsuits also listed the following as defendants: McKay Real Estate Corp., Leimco, Lake County Treasurer John Crocker, Darrell A. Young Corp.,Β ,Β ,Β Verizon Wireless, andΒ .

The plaza is in the 7600 block of Mentor Avenue.
