Lake County EMA Emergency Siren Testing Today At 11 AM

A scheduled test will take place today at 11:00 AM, at which time you'll hear a steady siren tone for approximately three minutes.

Lake County has installed an emergency alert outdoor sirens system to alert citizens of possible dangers such as chemical emergencies, natural and man-made disasters, and national security issues.

These sirens are tested four-times per year, on the second Wednesday in January, April, July and October.to ensure that they are in proper working condition. A scheduled test will take place today at 11:00 AM, at which time you’ll hear a steady siren tone for approximately three minutes.

In the event of an actual emergency

  • Go indoors, close all doors and windows.
  • DO NOT call 911. Such calls could hinder response activities.
  • Stay tuned to local radio or TV for further information.
