Lebron's triple-double leads the Cavs past the Knicks 119-104

Lebron James recorded his 48th career triple-double, leading the Cavaliers to a 119-104 victory over the Knicks on Thursday.

Lebron scored 18 points and had 13 rebounds with 15 assists for his sixth triple-double of the season. Kyrie Irving added 23 points and six assists. Irving did not play in the fourth quarter and had is streak of consecutive games with at least 25 points snapped stopped at five.

Kyle Korver scored 20 points off the bench and was 6-of-10 from 3-point range. Tristan Thompson registered his fourth straight double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson each contributed 14 points for the Cavs, which are now 8-1 in February and have beaten the Knicks 10 straight times. The defending NBA champs were 7-8 in January.

"We got back to playing our type of basketball," James said. "I've always felt good about our team, but it was just about the way we were playing. I feel really good about the way we're playing right now."

The Knicks, which have lost six of seven and are 12th in the Eastern Conference playoff race, were led by 25 points from Courtney Lee and 20 from Carmelo Anthony on 9-of-25 shooting. Kristaps Porzingis sprained his right ankle in the first half and did not return. He finished with eight points.

The Knicks took an early lead in the first game since the All-Star break for both teams, but the Cavaliers closed the first half on a 25-8 run. Cleveland built the lead to 72-51, but Carmelo Anthony scored eight points in the third quarter and kept New York in the game and entered the fourth quarter trailing 87-79. Then the Cleveland's second unit-led by James and his eight assists- dominated the fourth quarter and cruised to the victory.

COMING UP FOR THE CAVS: The Cavs host the Bulls at 8:30pm Saturday night on ABC. Cleveland is 1-1 this season in the league's marquee weekly time slot but are 0-2 against the Chicago Bulls so far this season.
