Madelyn Rose Salon Opens In Mentor

Mentor's newest salon will sponsor A Ladies Night Out on December 8

Even though Kathy Fishel, owner of Madelyn Rose Salon, doesn’t cut hair, she loves serving people and helping them look their best.

She used to sell women’s clothes in the Beachwood area and help women select great-looking dresses.

“I fell in love with that and I like serving people,” said Fishel. “So I thought of opening a hair salon even though I don’t cut hair.”

After a year of renovating and decorating a 1,200-square-foot space at 8706 Mentor Avenue, Fishel opened a new salon named after her first granddaughter on October 1.

“Our goal is to serve our customers and give them a good experience,” Fishel said. “For example, we provide complimentary hand, arm and scalp massages and our customers love it.”

Fishel employs three stylists and only uses American-made beauty products such as CHI Royal Treatment, White Truffle and Pearl.

“There are many quality products made in America and it’s important to support that,” said Fishel.

In addition to hair styling and color, Madelyn Rose also offers nail and skin care and provides haircuts for men and teens.

On December 8, Madelyn Rose is sponsoring A Ladies Night Out from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. For an admission fee of $10, ladies receive their choice of a professional haircut consultation, an express manicure or a 10-minute neck and arm massage. The event will feature a Mary Kay cosmetics representative and products , an upscale consignment boutique. To RSVP, please call 440.974.3940.

“This will be our first Ladies Night Out so we’ll see how it goes,” Fishel said. “If it’s successful, we’ll hold more of them.”

Madelyn Rose is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
