Festivities will include refreshments and door prizes. Special guests will include some adorable adoptable dogs from Marilyn’s Voice for a meet and greet. Marilyn’s Voice is a 100% volunteer organization supported by adoption fees and donations. It was named for Marilyn, a tiny dog rescued from a puppy mill where her vocal cords had been cut to silence her. Her injuries led to her untimely death, but not before she had brought joy to hundreds as a certified therapy dog. The volunteers of Marilyn’s Voice have made it their mission to become her “voice” and the voice of other mistreated dogs by working to end Ohio’s cruel puppy mill industry and by rescuing, fostering and permanently re-homing dogs in need. One such rescue is a dog named Betty Davis, who is the Official Marilyn’s Voice Spokespup. Betty spent her first three years confined to a wire cage as a breeder. Now a happy and healthy certified therapy dog, Betty comforts patients in hospitals and nursing homes and will be on hand to meet and mingle with Art Auction guests.
The Art Auction will be conducted by licensed and bonded auctioneer Alan Brown, Gallery One president. Now celebrating 40 years in business, Gallery One is located on Route 615, between Rtes. 2 and 90. The family-friendly gallery is wheel chair accessible with free parking. More Art Auction details and a preview will be available on Gallery One’s website www.galleryone.com in early November.
