Man Accused Of Smuggling Drugs In An Uncomfortable Place

Ricci Lewis faces several charges of drug trafficking and possession

A Cleveland man faces several felony drug charges after a Mentor police officer pulled over the Chrysler Sebring he was riding in Friday.

The officer smelled marijuana in the car and saw a baggie poking from the pocket of Ricci Lewis's sweatshirt poking, according to the Mentor Police Facebook page. Consequently, he searched Lewis and found three bags of marijuana and another bag of cocaine in his pocket, police said.

The officer also saw an open beer and marijuana join in the center console of the car.

Additionally, 32-year-old Lewis had a burglary warrant out for his arrest from Painesville Municipal Court so the officer arrested him.

When Lewis was taken to the , the officer who arrested him noticed that Lewis was walking unusually. When asked about it, Lewis admitted that he was hiding more drugs in his buttocks, according to police.

The drugs in those bags appeared to be cocaine and heroin, police said.

Lewis was charged with possession and trafficking of marijuana, cocaine and heroin. He also faces a felony count of possessing a criminal tool, specifically his cell phone.

Lewis was arraigned Monday in Mentor Municipal Court. He made no plea on the felony charges.

Judge John Trebets set his bond at $100,000, which was not posted. Lewis's next court hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
