We want to remind everyone that it is the responsibility of the property owner or occupant to keep sidewalks in front of their property clear of ice, snow, or other nuisances. In addition, pushing snow or ice onto a public sidewalk or roadway is prohibited. The penalty is a minor misdemeanor but can grow from there.

We all understand that Lake County weather can be unpredictable…and sometimes its hard to keep up the snowfall, but ultimately, it’s up to you to maintain a safe footing for pedestrians on your property. For the sake and safety of those in our community, be a good neighbor and keep your sidewalk free from snow and ice.
