The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.5% to 7.2% for the month of September 2020. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 3.1%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.6% as well to 8.0% for the month of September; one year ago, it was 3.2%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate at 7.0% with Mentor second at 7.2%. The City’s civilian labor force is 23,400.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased from 8.8% to 8.0% for the month of September.
