Mentor Unemployment Rate Drops To 3.5%

The State of Ohio's unemployment rate decreased 0.2% to 4.7% for the month of April 2021.

As Ohio continues its post-pandemic economic recovery, the unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreases 0.7% to 3.5% for the month of April 2021. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 19.1%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreases 0.7% as well to 3.8% for the month of April; one year ago, it was 20.2%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor’s 3.5% unemployment rate is the lowest and Lakewood has the second lowest rate at 3.9%. Kettering is third with 4.5%, followed by Parma at fourth with 4.6%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 26,000.
