City of Mentor hits lowest unemployment rate in its ranking. Ties with Kettering at 7.8%

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreases 1.2% to 7.8% for the month of August 2020. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 3.5%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreases 1.4% as well to 8.6% for the month of August; one year ago, it was 3.6%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Mentor and Kettering have the lowest unemployment rate at 7.8% with Cuyahoga Falls second at 8.3%. The City’s civilian labor force increased from 25,700 to 25,800.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreases from 9.2% to 8.8% for the month of August.
