Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Painesville Student
Star Student Award recognizes students for achievement in and out of the virtual classroom

Cole Malkamaki of Painesville, Ohio was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for March in recognition of his achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.
Cole, a fifth grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by his teacher Mrs. Shillito in recognition of his hard work and attitude that make him a positive influence for others in and outside the classroom. As a Star Student, Cole will be presented a certificate recognizing his achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website.
Cole’s parents enrolled him in Ohio Connections Academy at the beginning of this school year because they had bought a new business and the schedule flexibility the school offers enables them to spend more time together and to help with his school work. Cole was also looking to have a more individualized approach to his education and enjoys that he can work at his own pace.
