Renowned Wildlife Artist Introducing New Paintings In Mentor
Carl Brenders will formally introduce two paintings this weekend at Gallery One
Acclaimed wildlife painter, Carl Brenders of Belgium, is returning this weekend to in Mentor to introduce two of his newest paintings.
He will open an exhibition of his work from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and lecture informally at 7 p.m. He will also be at the gallery from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Prints of his paintings – including two of his newest, Island Shores – Snowy Egret and Just Shy of Sly – can be bought at the gallery. Island Shores shows an egret walking along a foamy surf and Sly depicts a red fox climbing from its den.

Brenders' paintings are renowned for their realism. He says he paints every detail of his subjects – feathers, hair, leaves – until "they get into my skin."
Brenders was inducted into the U.S. Art Hall of Fame and also honored as the 24th Master Artist at the prestigious "Birds in Art" Exhibition at Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau WI.

He has produced wildlife illustrations for more than 20 books in a series titled The Secret Life of Animals. His art is the subject of two books: Wildlife: The Nature Painting of Carl Brenders and Pride of Place. Additionally, his art is featured in More Wildlife Painting: Techniques of Modern Masters and The Best of Wildlife Art.
