I know there are a lot of dedicated runners in Mentor because I see them out in all kinds of weather! I am not even sure I can call myself a runner because my running is equal to your walking in terms of speed. Nevertheless, I challenged myself to start running several years ago using the Couch-2-5K program and have found that I enjoy it. I have also enjoyed the challenges and the festive atmosphere of 5K races.
I have run in several races this year so far, including the Fr. Kline Memorial Race, The Color Run, and the Ahuja Race. I am also signed up for the Downtown Willoughby 5K. This race is closed with 1,500 runners! It could be the three beers that are part of the finish line goodies that made this race so successful in its first year.
I'm sharing some DIYs for runners on my blog. You can find two variations of headbands to make out of an old T Shirt. I made mine to hold back my short hair when I run. I like a headband that isn't too tight so I don't get a headache.
Need an armband for your phone or Ipod? Make one!
Finally, I am also hosting a GIVEAWAY of a T Shirt Blanket! So if you are a runner who has collected a lot of shirts along the way, this is a great way to get them out of the drawers and turned into something functional!
