Traffic Work For Greater Cleveland, July 14-17

Here are a few of the projects that could impact your weekend coming and goings.

CLEVELAND, OH β€”

Friday's construction projects include the closing of two left lanes on I-77 north, between I-490 and I-90, and the closing of the I-77 north ramps to E. 9th Street and I-90 east, between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. Drivers can still get downtown by taking the E. 14th St. exit. Need to get to I-90? Take E. 14th St. to Prospect Ave. to I-90 east.

Crews will also close the McKinley Ave. exit ramp on I-90 west starting Friday at 7 p.m. The ramp will remain closed until Monday at 6 a.m. Drivers can stay on I-90 west and exit at Hilliard Blvd., then hop on I-90 east and get off on the I-90 east McKinley exit.

Also on Friday night, the right lane of I-90 east over the George Voinovich Bridge will close from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. (To stay up to date on local stories, subscribe to the Patch Cleveland newsletter. As news breaks and the story develops, you will be the first to receive updates from Patch.)

On Saturday, crews will be paving the intersection at E. 55th St. and I-490. They will be creating a designated southbound right turn lane from E. 55th onto the freeway. Drivers can dodge congestion at that intersection by staying on I-77 north and exiting onto Woodland Ave.

Starting Monday, traffic will be shifted on I-77 north to the inside two lanes, so a paving crew can come through. Access to exit and entrance ramps will be maintained throughout the project. There will also be daytime and nighttime lane closures on I-77 north and south from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through the rest of the month to remove concrete barriers.

Further east, crews will start repairs on slopes near the US 422 bridge, over the abandoned railroad east of SR 91. All of that work will take place on the shoulders and should have a minimal impact on traffic, the Ohio Department of Transportation says.

More information on projects being conducted throughout Greater Cleveland can be found on the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 12, website.
