Tribe hold off Rangers to take second straight game, 4-3

Indians, Rangers, Cody Allen, Carlos Santana, Joey Gallo, Carlos Carraso, Martin Perez,

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Carlos Santana led off with a home run, Carlos Carrasco struck out seven in his first start since breaking a bone in his right hand last season, Cody Allen and the Cleveland Indians held on for a 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.

The Rangers trailed 4-2, into the ninth. Nomar Mazara and Mike Napoli led off the ninth with back-to-back doubles, but Cody Allen struck Rougned Odor, Jurickson Profar, and Joey Gallo to end the game.

Santana's sixth career leadoff home run put the Indians up in the first against Rangers starter Martin Perez. Newcomer Austin Jackson and Santana made it 3-0 in the second with a pair of two-out singles. Michael Brantley drove a run in the seventh for the Indians with another two-out run-scoring single.

Indians' starter Carlos Carrasco strikes out seven in 5 2/3 innings, allowed two runs, walked one and allowed four hits on 75 pitches.

Rangers' starter Martin Perez goes six innings, allows five hits and three earned runs, four walks and struck out four. He allowed only one hit over his final three innings.
