Unemployment Continues To Decline In Mentor
The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.3% to 5.5% for the month of January 2021.

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.3% to 5.5% for the month of January 2021. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.3%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreases 0.3% as well to 6.4% for the month of January; one year ago, it was 4.8%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor has the second lowest unemployment rate with Kettering having the lowest rate at 5.2%. Cuyahoga Falls is ranked third with 5.6%, followed by Columbus at fourth with 5.9%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 25,800.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.8% to 6.1% for the month of January 2021.
